National Night Out

nwca-nno-2019

National Night Out was a huge success! In spite of the weather, friends and families came from all neighborhoods. Columbus Police Officers were there to chat with neighbors and children and the Mounted Unit was there to show their officers on horseback. The Atonement Lutheran Band performed for most of the evening and there was food, soft drinks, and games for the kids. Many friends won prizes in the raffle and one happy little boy won the bicycle! Thanks to all the companies that donated money or prizes and thanks to all the volunteers who made it a truly memorable evening for all.

Don Scott Airfield to Modernize with $10 Million Gift

The Ohio State University Airport received a $10 million gift from the Austin E. Knowlton Foundation, with the purpose of enhancing and renovating the education, research, and FBO facilities, including the terminal.

The Knowlton Foundation’s donation is a continuation of Dutch Knowlton’s pride and support of his alma mater. Many of you may know that the Knowlton School of Architecture is named in his honor. Education and aviation were two of Dutch’s passions.

More details on the gift and the airport modernization plans are available on Ohio State’s web site (click here).

Update! The Ohio State University College of Engineering Dean David Williams and John Ehlers discussed the impact of the gift at a Columbus Metropolitan Club luncheon on August 12 (video).
